Pantopet – Pantoprazole Gastro Resistant Tablets IP (10 Tablets)

Pantopet® Tablets contain Pantoprazole, a Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that effectively reduces gastric acid secretion by blocking the final step of acid production in the stomach.
It is widely used in dogs and cats for the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers and acid-related gastrointestinal disorders.

🧪 Composition

• Pantopet® 20 Tablet: Pantoprazole 20 mg

• Pantopet® 40 Tablet: Pantoprazole 40 mg

⚙️ Mechanism of Action (Pharmacodynamics)

Pantoprazole:

• 🔬 Irreversibly inhibits the H⁺/K⁺-ATPase (proton pump) enzyme

• 🛑 Blocks the final step of gastric acid secretion

• 📉 Reduces both basal and stimulated acid production

• 🛡️ Promotes healing of gastric and duodenal mucosa

💉 Dosage

• 1 mg/kg body weight

• Once daily

• Oral route

⏳ Duration:

• Usually short-term, up to 8 weeks, or as advised by the veterinarian.

Pantopet® is indicated for:

• 🔥 Gastric ulcers

• 🔥 Duodenal ulcers

• 🍽️ Gastric acid–related disorders

• 🧬 Gastrinoma

• 🦠 Mast cell neoplasia (acid hypersecretion)

📌 Directions for Use

• 💊 Administer once daily by mouth

• ⏰ Preferably give at the same time each day

• 👨‍⚕️ Follow veterinarian’s advice regarding dose and duration

⚠️ Side Effects

✔️ Generally well tolerated

🚨 Rarely reported:

• Vomiting

• Diarrhoea

If adverse effects persist, discontinue and consult your veterinarian.
