Meropet–500 Injection contains Meropenem, a second-generation carbapenem β-lactam antibiotic, reserved for the treatment of severe, life-threatening and multidrug-resistant bacterial infections in veterinary practice. It is commonly used in sepsis, resistant UTIs, meningitis, and deep tissue infections where other antibiotics fail.

Each vial contains:

• Meropenem Trihydrate – 570 mg
  (Equivalent to Meropenem Anhydrous – 500 mg)

🧭 Dosage & Administration

Standard Dose:

• 15 mg/kg body weight

• Once daily for 7 days

• Route: IV or SC

Severe Infections (use higher dose):

• 25 mg/kg body weight once daily for:

  • Sepsis

  • Uterine infections

  • Mammary gland infections

  • Severe UTIs

1. Reconstitute 500 mg vial with sterile water for injection

2. Shake gently until fully dissolved

3. Allow solution to stand until clear

4. Final concentration: 50 mg/ml Meropenem

• Vomiting or diarrhoea

• Slight hair colour change at injection site
