🐶🐱 Melosil® Suspension (Meloxicam Oral Suspension) for Dogs & Cats

Melosil® Suspension contains Meloxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain, inflammation, and fever in dogs and cats. It is commonly prescribed for osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal pain, and post-operative discomfort.
Melosil should always be used at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest duration possible.

🧪 Composition

Each 1 ml contains:

• Meloxicam IP – 1.5 mg

• Excipients q.s.

💉 Dosage

🐕🐈 Dogs & Cats

• Initial dose (Day 1): 0.2 mg/kg body weight

• Maintenance dose: 0.1 mg/kg body weight, once daily

⏳ Treatment duration:

• 3–5 days only

• Prolonged use strictly under veterinary supervision

⚙️ Mechanism of Action

Meloxicam:

• 🛑 Inhibits Cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) & Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2)

• 🔻 Reduces prostaglandin synthesis

• 💥 Controls pain, swelling, and inflammation effectively

Common Uses:

• 🦴 Osteoarthritis in dogs & cats

• 🤕 Soft tissue & musculoskeletal injuries

📌 Directions for Use

• 🕒 Administer once daily

• 🍽️ Can be given with or without food

• 📆 Give at the same time each day for best results

• 📏 Use a measuring syringe for accurate dosing

⚠️ Possible Side Effects

Commonly reported side effects in dogs include:

• 🤢 Vomiting

• 💩 Soft stools or diarrhoea

• 🍽️ Loss of appetite
