PetPred Prednisolone Phosphate Oral Syrup (60ml)

PetPred® Oral Syrup is a veterinary corticosteroid formulation used in dogs and cats to manage a wide range of inflammatory, allergic, autoimmune, and immune-mediated conditions. The liquid form makes it easy to administer, especially for young, small, or fussy pets.

🧪 Composition

• Each 5 ml contains:
  Prednisolone Phosphate IP equivalent to Prednisolone 15 mg
  (in a palatable flavoured syrup base)

⚖️ Dosage (As Prescribed by Veterinarian)

• Anti-inflammatory dose:
  0.2 – 0.6 mg/kg body weight, once or twice daily

• Immunosuppressive dose:
  2 – 6 mg/kg body weight, up to three times daily

📌 Important:

• Dosage & duration depend on disease severity

• Do not stop suddenly – dose must be tapered gradually under vet guidance

⚙️ Mechanism of Action

Prednisolone suppresses inflammatory and immune responses by:

• Inhibiting prostaglandins & cytokines

• Blocking inflammatory pathways (NF-κB, AP-1)

• Reducing swelling, redness, pain, and immune overreaction

• Increased thirst & urination 💧

• Increased appetite 🍗

• Vomiting or diarrhoea

• Panting

• Behavioural changes (long-term use)

• Avoid in fungal infections

• Use cautiously in pregnant or lactating pets

• Long-term use only under strict veterinary supervision
